A bathtub is a plumbing fixture used for bathing or showering, typically installed in a home bathroom. Modern bathtubs are mostly made of acrylic or fiberglass, and some are made of steel coated with ceramic. In recent years, wooden bathtubs have also become increasingly popular in mainland China, primarily made from Sichuan cedar wood, hence the name "Cecichuan wooden tub."

Traditional Western bathtubs were usually made of galvanized steel or iron. Historically, most bathtubs were rectangular, but in recent years, with the increasing popularity of acrylic heated bathtubs, various shapes have emerged. The most common color for bathtubs is white, but other colors such as pink are also available. Most bathtubs have a drain at the bottom and an overflow preventer at the top. Some have the faucet installed on the rim of the bathtub.
